Just a little Christmas crafting

Yeah so I am being awesome and POSTING all my Christmas cards this year for the very first time. YAY for snail mail! This is because

  1. I haven't given Christmas cards in a while and I kind of miss it
  2. I can't see everyone I would like to give them to (I also won't be bothered to visit everyone individually, mostly cause I would have to use public transport to get everywhere)
  3. It takes less time to go to the post office once then see everyone.
  4. AND I'm not going to be in the state over Christmas/New Years :)
Not to mention that mail is FUN! :)

And now me being, well me, I thought that I would make my own Christmas cards!

The design and all are pretty much done just need to finish the last half. THEN I have to make the envelopes...
Just some of my materials

I really need to get these done before the week is out. Need to post them before the end of the week. I leave for Melbourne on FRIDAY!!!

CONNECTOR PEN! Just one..

I suppose I could post them from there seeing as domestic postage will cost the same but I would like it to arrive around Christmas time (if I posted it today it would probably all get mailed out by Friday). Just hope my friend gets hers before she leaves the country for half a year!!
just a little preview which in my opinion actually gives it away...

Anyway, I don't know if anyone still reads this blog. BUT I miss it so I hope to be posting a bit more this holidays. :)

Business card?

If you saw my post before about the Golden Tickets I'm selling on Fiverr...

Yeah I don't know where I was going with that sentence but the point is, I thought I would design myself a business card to post with the tickets..

So here it is!
Front

Back

I made a little thank you card too! :)

I don't have them printed professionally.. I just print it on normal copy paper and stick the two sides together.
I'm heaps pro!

SUBMITTED!

So I have FINALLY submitted my shirt design to Threadless!

Please support me and score (preferably a 5). Just click the link here. There is also a link on the left column.

I really need the money that I could receive from getting it printed so that I can make it to Spain for World Youth Day this year.

Thank you everyone! And don't forget to spread the word!

RED APE

So half way through my work experience week at Red Ape. Been doing a little design work for them but its thier down time so half the time the designers/illustrators just sit around LOOKING for work to do.

Anyway I am having a GREAT time. Ive been designing packaging, skateboards, doing some illustration and had a go and storyboard layouts. Also lots of image sourcing...

But here are some of the skateboard stuff I did today. The company want to design some cool skateboards for some reason..? Either for sale or just for some art to hang round the place but apparently the creative director has connections with people who can print for us..?

. I designed all the patterns and added one of the illustrators design. Top one is all mine. :)
Note that the illustrations on the bottom two arent mine. Copyright Jeremy Bondoc.

I would have more stuff but Illustrator CS5 files don't open to well on CS4.

Well hopefully I can get a copy of all my work by the end of the week to add to my portfolio!

See the post here.

Thank's everyone who's been liking and rebloging! Means a lot! (thanks for the ego boost! haha) But seriously it makes me feel more motivated to create some more and a reassurance that going into design was the right decision.

I wanted to make something non-cliche for valentines. And what better way to show your love with food analogy! Just put this together yesterday.

crafts in rouge tones

I made a brooch today! I was meant to be doing some Valentine's craft but it didnt turn out how I wanted.. So in any case I made a mess in my room and computer table. Kind of altered a dress and made some blooming felt.
Crafty supplies

I'm good at making mess

YAY BROOCH!

Everything else i have done today, not much I must say.

I also started designing some digital art which I can hopefully print and give to my girls for Valentine's instead of what I was trying to do today. I do have something else in mind to craft for V-day though I think it's all very cliche..

That is all

watermarks

So i finished designing those watermarks for my friend. Drew up the designs he liked from my brainstorming page on Illustrator.

In the end he picked a few from the above.
The finished product, the bottom is just the same but in white

And the water mark in action

Most of the designs just involved my own handwriting (horah! for my graphics tablet), for some reason said friend liked it..? Which is a first because normally I don't even like my own writing. Although after all this I'm kind of warming to it, at least for this sort of thing (my handwriting still looks terrible in paragraphs). So I decided to write my own name out for a  watermark or whatever!

In action! Click for the large view of this awesome panorama I made of a 'S is for Stalker' (which I also hand worte) photoshoot I did with my friend last year. I think It turned out well.

Yep well anyway I think that's all for now, just doing a bit of post processing on the rest of the photos I took on this day. Hopefully it will make it onto facebook by tomorrow.

So sorry blogger..

I wish I posted on here more but its difficult. I would need to have 4 or 5 tabs open when I'm on the net; Email, Facebook, Tumblr, Youtube, Twitter.. That's right, I'm connected.

Well this is meant to be my design blog (I should redecorate) to go along with my photoblog and my general tumblr which I spam with nothingness. And I guess I don't think about 'designy' stuff to post on here till ages later.

But here is a little something. I needed to design a NO FOOD sign for work (because asking marketing staff to design stuff is cheaper than outsourcing). Just something easy and simple I drew up on illustrator.
My work in progress. I had 2 ideas, 3 designs..

and my boss chose this one

It's weird that I say my boss chose it because she is in fact my friend, who was in the same position i am now when she got me the job (well due to connections it was easier for me to get an interview etc.). And now my lovely friend got promoted due to a company shuffle and is now my boss.

Anyway I think I will spent more time posting here this year since I am now in charge of my work blog (also a blogger). So may this be the beginning of a relatively blog-filled year!

iPhone app UPDATE

So here are all my completed iPhone app icons done to date! I have 12 of the 20 that I need before I need to finish the whole interface. Why do I make life harder for myself?! Could have just stuck a picture in there but NO I wanted to draw ALL my icons from scratch most of which I will be making up!

(click for a larger view)

I know there are two lego ones there, I'm not all happy with the background still! Hoping the purple will be okay, need a little more feedback and stuff. I still have a week and I did get through 4 maybe 5 icons today so I should make it in time, despite my  new work hours needing to be in-putted into my planner.

Yeah, anyway need to work on my next icon!

Uni work

Just realised that I could post some of my uni work in here (craft blog). Should be my craft and design blog.

ANYHOWS I've been doing some work on illustrator for uni. Have to render an iphone and make up an interface. So what I', doing for my interface is just the main page with all the apps and just make up some of my own apps to go on it.

Here is my lego app:

I want to change the background but I don't know what to.. If anyone has suggestions they are most welcome.
